Regina Pacis College is a Catholic Girls Secondary school established under the aegis of the Catholic Arch-Diocese of Abuja. Our proprietor is John Cardinal Onaiyekan, and is run by Our Principal, Rev. Sr. Ugonna Igbo and Vice Principal Rev. Sr. Ngozi Ann-Maris Steve. The school is a Catholic institution run by the Daughters of Divine Love congregation of Reverend Sisters. The chaplain is Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ojafo.
Based on the religious life of the college, the highest form of prayer known to the church is the Holy Mass. Mass is held in the morning everyday by 6.00am except on Thursdays.
The Students participate in the mass by reading the daily readings and preaching the homily on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Students also sing the psalmody on Monday evenings during the mass. Communicants are permitted to serve the holy mass when in the state of grace. We also have the monthly adoration comprising of the Divine mercy Prayer.
Every morning, morning prayers are said by 6:00am on Thursdays and Mondays and by 5:45am other days. Night prayers are said every day after the night prep. The students also say the Angelus everyday by 12:00pm in the classrooms.
The college rosary holds every day except Saturdays when we have the liturgy (discussing the readings for the next day) and Mondays when we have evening mass. Once in a while we have the Rosary Procession which comprises of the 20 decades of the Rosary. We also say our prayers before and after every meal.
In our school, every two years, students get confirmed into the church by the Cardinal. Baptism and 1st Holy Communion also takes place every year for converts to the Catholic Church after a period of preparation.
At times, the Chaplain or the school management organizes a retreat with a priest to come and talk about our relationship with God. It is usually a time to get back to God.
